Description
Make yourself comfortable, have a glass and enjoy the Nero d’Avola DOC of Casa Montalbano. A red with a strong character but velvety taste, with depth, with beautiful scents of Mediterranean scrub, earth and eucalyptus. The bouquet is enveloping and austere with hints of red fruits such as plums, cherries in alcohol and berries. There is no lack of withered flowers, sweet spices, very fine earthy notes reminiscent of licorice and rhubarb. Finally the call of the sea with iodine, musk and the typical scents of pine.
Our Nero d’Avola has a good acidity, suitable, if well preserved, for a long aging.
If it is young, fruity and vintage, its marked qualities of lightness and aromaticity make it perfect with fish dishes. If, on the other hand, you uncork an aged and structured bottle, match it with red meat dishes, cold cuts, cheese and game.
Nero d’Avola D.O.C. – Alcoholic degree 13,5%
Serve at a temperature of 18-20 °C.
To be consumed immediately or stored for 3/5 years.
Vinification and aging:
Destemming and maceration at a controlled temperature (27°C) followed by 12 days on the skins. After racking, malolactic fermentation is completely carried out in steel tanks and further aging in barriques for about 8 months. After bottling follows a further refinement in bottle for 3 months.
